We continue to farm organically, complimenting our natural surroundings. We hand pull noxious weeds and encourage the return of native grasses. October 2007 - harvesting time

Lavender and Texas Native Grass
Lavender is an amazing crop - with a mind of its own- most picturesque blooms are from late July to October, but with plenty of winter/spring rain, move that up about a month or two. Provence can bloom as early as late May and goes through the fall. Angustifolias (our favorite is Premier) bloom May with another great bloom in the fall. Of course, it all depends on rain! Our Samuel helping the bees this year.
Back to the farm is a trend throughout the U.S. Our communities offer small town living complemented by natural surroundings. On our farm, we hand pull noxious weeds and encourage the return of native grasses.
It only takes going through one drought to understand the importance of focusing on native plants!
