2009 marks the20th annual LIGHTS SPECTACULAR - HILL COUNTRY STYLE , rated one of the top ten light shows in the world! Our historic Blanco County courthouse is lit on the Friday after Thanksgiving complete with fireworks overhead. Our Lighted Hooves and Wheels parade is Saturday night, special events are held every weekend and the lights stay on through January 1.
In the spring, Johnson City is known for its wildflowers! Mark your calendar for our annual Wildflower Days Spring Festival the first Saturday in May, "Art, Wine and Wildflowers". While we love bluebonnets, below is a photo of the wildflowers taken at our farm May 2008.
Johnson CIty has something to offer everyone. Art, Parks & a President. We sit on the banks of the Pedernales River where 2009 will receive LRCA's newest River Park - sitting on the edge of our town! The LBJ National Park Visitors Center and Johnson Settlement are within our city limits and The LBJ and Pedernales State Parks are less than 10 minutes away. And, of course, we are proud to be a Presidential Hometown for our 36th President, Lyndon B. Johnson.
