2011 marked the 22nd Annual LIGHTS SPECTACULAR - HILL COUNTRY STYLE , rated one of the top ten light shows in the world! Our historic Blanco County courthouse is lit on the Friday after Thanksgiving complete with fireworks overhead. Purchase handmade ornaments in the courthouse each Saturday and Sunday night. Our Lighted Hooves and Wheels parade is Saturday night, special events are held every weekend and the lights stay on through January 1.
In the spring, Johnson City is known for its wildflowers! Mark your calendar for Help us kick off the wildflower season with Texas Men's State Chili Cookoff the last weekend in March. Over 100 chili cooks and bbq teams compete for top honors. The wildflower season starts with bluebonnets and continues through June with a variety of Hill Country wildflowers. below is a photo of the wildflowers taken at our farm May 2008.
